Curriculum at Bright Horizon Preparatory School
Our School curriculum is designed to meet the academic requirements of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) while providing enough time in the school schedule for students to excel in sports.
Students are required to maintain a ‘B’ average in each subject area and are required to write at least five CXC subject exams at the end of their senior year. Students must also accumulate 120 hours of community service in order to graduate. In addition to the CXC, students are required to write the SAT examination during their last semester at the School. This satisfies the application requirement for those students who plan to continue their education in the United States of America.
Other major components of the school’s curriculum include a life skills program and a comprehensive sports program. Our sports program includes indoor games such as chess and bridge as well as outdoor sports such as golf, swimming, tennis, cricket, soccer, sailing, and squash.
Requirements
- submit a completed application
- participate in a family interview with the School principal or her representative
- submit Common Entrance Exam results (First Form students only)
- select one of the sporting areas offered by the School
- submit two recommendation letters from previous school(s) as well as a recommendation from a school coach or physical education teacher
- submit a two-page essay written by the student explaining how attending Bright Horizon Preparatory School will help in obtaining his/her goals
- submit a transcript from his/her previous high school(s)
